Powerful piece by @drrachelclarke.com on the COVID inquiry. Those who say it’s easy to be wise in hindsight are being utterly disingenuous. Many of us spoke out at the time, and it’s in the public record.

Saw that one of Paul McCartney’s old driving licences came up at auction recently with an estimate of £800. I thought I’d keep an eye on it, since that price felt low to me. It sold for £15,600.

I just revisited Tony Blair's 'forces of conservativism' conference speech in 1999 - two years into office. It's such a clear headed narration that balances people's continued frustration and what the government had delivered.

Just went for a quick squizz through the When Harry Met Sally... screenplay, looking for a particular stage direction. And this page made me cry. And the thing that set me off? The twinkle ball.

I know the robin is a notoriously territorial bird, so it shouldn’t really come as a surprise to see just how much of the avian collective noun department it has marked out as its own.
