While baristas are on strike, our job is simple: DON’T SHOP AT STARBUCKS.

They’re striking for fair pay and respect and we’re standing with them.

Show the billionaires our solidarity is stronger than their greed.

Can't believe I have to say this, but: Nursing IS a profession. By classifying it as "not professional," Trump is making it more expensive & difficult for students to study nursing. This adds to the affordability crisis & makes staffing shortages worse. @wsna.bsky.social www.wsna.org/news/2025/ws...
WSNA opposes excluding nursing from “professional degree” programs
Without access to sufficient loans, the impact on the nursing workforce, including the work of preparing new nurses to enter the workforce, can be severe.

NGL I’ve considered submitting my resume, begging for a role as needed, and relocating to be part of this. Maybe my three-year NYC residency 21 yrs ago is enough? But then I remind myself my focus must be my local community and bringing this energy where I live ❤️

Today, after months of requests, I toured the Broadview ICE Processing Facility. I want to share what I saw.

The facility has no food vendor, no medical care, and detainees have to use toilets in the middle of shared cells. These are in no way suitable conditions to be holding anyone — period.

Working people have been left behind in New York. In the wealthiest city in the world, one in five can't afford $2.90 for the train or bus. As I told Trump today— it’s time to put those people right back at the heart of our politics.

Donald Trump is often cast as a “lame duck” president, but nothing about his second term resembles a presidency that is winding down. Why viewing Trump through a traditional political lens minimizes the stakes. #Velshi
Stop calling Trump a ‘lame duck’
Donald Trump is being cast as a “lame duck” president, yet his actions suggest otherwise. Lincoln Project co-founder Rick Wilson argues Trump’s second term has given him an even “greater sense of autonomy,” unrestrained by tradition or law. Wilson warns that Trump’s need to remain the center of attention means he’ll grow even more chaotic and dangerous if he feels sidelined from power.

Chile, por favor no elijas al pinochetista y clon de Trump Kast. No te creas los cuentos. Está siguiendo el libro de tácticas del autoritanismo para meter miedo, fomentar el odio y atacar a los más vulnerables. No tengamos tan corta memoria. Yo que tan vieja no estoy recuerdo.

Tomorrow I’m voting in the Chilean presidential primary. Three of the top four candidates are: the son of a nazi whose brother was part of the Pinochet dictatorship, a libertarian who has his own project 2025, and the daughter of an air force general who participated in the Pinochet coup. ☠️

I’ve worked at public schools in three districts, two large urban ones and a small rural one, and one urban charter school. As much as public schools need reform all around imo, I still prefer to devote my work to public schools than charters.
Getting annoyed listening to charter school activists lie again and again that charter schools are public schools.

They are not.

They are publicly funded private schools that siphon money away from public schools and produce no better results.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

If Senate leadership’s goal was to demobilize and depress rank-and-file Democrats, they could not have played their cards better.

This is why we’ve launched the largest primary program that we’ve ever run.
Democratic leaders have failed us again. It's time to get new leaders.
After yet another capitulation by Chuck Schumer and Senate Democrats, it's clear we need new leadership capable of mounting a serious opposition to Trump's authoritarian regime. We're launching our la...
