Republicans have shut down the government to take healthcare away from millions of Americans and give Trump a blank check for his illegal power grab.

Death Spiral: Republicans' Medicaid cuts threaten the health care of all Americans-even people on private insurance.

1. Medicaid cuts cause millions to lose health care

2. People without coverage can't pay for the care they need

3. Rural hospitals lose significant revenue

4. Health care workers are laid off, rural hospitals close

5. Entire communities lose health care services

BREAKING: We're suing to stop Texas school districts from displaying the Ten Commandments in their classrooms.

A judge in our separate case already ruled that schools putting up these posters are violating the First Amendment.

Re. the glue-being-missing commentary on your show today: the March on Washington took a LONG time to organize, w great sacrifice. Most white people were unsupportive. I agree we’re not gathering in community as much. But people ARE doing the deep, sustained work. Mainstream media doesn’t cover it.

Why do people in the U.S., particularly white people, romanticize the 1960s in the way they do?

The 60s were a terrible time and the VAST MAJORITY of white people had NO ROLE in protests etc... In fact most of them hated the protests and everyone involved in them.

If you, like me, are the parent of a neuro-atypical child dreading this autism press conference, please remember: These are the people hurting our kids. Not us. They are the ones stigmatizing and pathologizing them. They are the ones peddling untested science. And we should be very, very angry.

When someone is having a mental health crisis, please do not call the police.

1 in 4 people killed by police are, or are perceived to be, experiencing a mental health crisis.

A person with unmet mental health needs is 16 times more likely to be killed by the police.

Cops don’t keep us safe.

Lil Nas X faces felony charges of "battery" against an officer from an arrest during a mental health crisis in late August. I wrote about my family member's experience with police being sent during mental health episodes—still common for wellness checks—and how it ruined their life.

Last week, "Seniors for Zohran" organized a rally at City Hall.

Nearly 60% of NYC elders have no retirement income and more than a quarter million live in poverty.

This is an intergenerational campaign to deliver a city where everyone can live a dignified life, at any age.

Here's something I always forget that most people don't know: finding & paying for your own attorney is the only realistic option for someone detained by ICE. There's no appointed counsel system, & limited non-profits who can only take a few at a time (if at all).

These cases are a *lot of work*

We’re back. Join our next nationwide day of defiance on October 18. Trump’s regime is abducting immigrants, deploying troops in our streets, rigging maps to silence voters, and defying the courts, but standing up to wannabe kings is part of our DNA.
