The war will end when Russia stops fighting. Therefore, pressure has to be put on Russia, so that they stop believing that they will win. Why is that so hard to understand?

There is a dishonest Labour MP trying to claim wealth taxes “don’t work”.

Wealth taxes DO work. I know, I used to live in Norway, where they have had a wealth tax for more than 130 years. All public services are much better and poverty is far, far less than in the UK.

@adrianramsay.bsky.social explains how Labour's budget fails to address unprecedented cost of living pressures- and how a wealth tax would raise revenues to fund our infrastructure and public services.

Budget 2025.

Household energy bills could be cut by £154, green levies shifted to general taxation.

No abolition of VAT on domestic fuel.

No curbs on energy company profiteering/dividends.

No change in the Ofgem pricing formula, which gives us one of the most expensive electricity in the world.

we're still paying off PFI-1

PFI is a underhanded way of privatising the NHS
NHS should be publicly owned, publicly funded, free for the public to use

🚨 Rachel Reeves JUST unveiled “the most complex government budget in history.” But without a proper wealth tax we’ll never fix the NHS or fund schools properly. So we HACKED a billboard in her constituency with the real solution: TAX THE F*CKING RICH

My Budget Day opinion:

Budget Day should be abolished. Performative nonsense that (by accident) leans into 'politics as entertainment'.

Measures should instead be announced when they are individually ready to be announced – at any time in the parliamentary calendar.

Well done to @zackpolanski.bsky.social for pointing out economists aren't impartial arbiters of truth but are often protecting power & wealth

Most people hear “heat pump” and think of small air-source units at home. But Germany is building one of the world’s largest heat pumps in Mannheim: a 162 MW river-source system using heat from the Rhine.

Big reminder that heat-pumps scale far beyond households — they can decarbonise whole cities.

UK govt can save over £20bn a year by ending payment of interest on commercial banks’ central bank reserves.

Subsidy implemented after the 2007-08 crash. Banks are very profitable.

Since 2023, the EU stopped paying interest on central bank reserves.

UK can find better uses of £20bn+.

💡 Cut energy bills by ending profiteering
🚰 Cut water bills by bringing water into public hands
🏠 Give councils the power to control rents
🚸 Lift the two-child benefit cap and extend free school meals to all

Cut Bills. Tax Billionaires.
