So glad Verona is ending their contract with this major civil liberties abuser. Thanks @lukediaz.bsky.social!
Flock cameras are not regular license plate readers that take photos only when an infraction is suspected. They are always recording the information of everyone that passes it — whether they’re committing a crime or not. It’s that power that led us to spend over five months reporting on Flock.

Let's go!
Tonight the Fitchburg City Council voted to not renew their Flock contract for the camera at the a Fitchburg Recycling Center. One down 83,000 to go.

Anyone read the Water Knife by Paolo Bacigalupi? America isn't immune to stuff like this either.

The insurance industry knows that climate change is real
"Climate shock." New study shows that rising property insurance premiums caused by growing weather extremes are cascading into the real estate market. Homes in the ZIP codes most exposed to hurricanes and wildfires would sell for an average of $43,900 less than they would otherwise.

Great to see other countries step up and support renewables and it's good for their economies. A massive investment in renewables would be good for America's economy too! cleantechnica.com/2025/11/17/a...

No bailout for AI!
AOC: Should this AI bubble pop, we should not be entertaining a bailout of these corporations while healthcare is being denied to Americans and SNAP is being denied to Americans —

Eggless waffles came out of the waffle iron very pale, but somehow crispier? At least they tasted delicious.

This isn't directed at the Madison school district specifically, but so much money gets spent on consultants by governing units and a lot of it is unnecessary or wasteful IMO. Not always, but elected officials need to critically evaluate who they hire.

And those distortions have real material base. If you're 60 years old and 75% of your wealth in your home's value, you don't want housing prices to fall! If you're 29 and looking to buy your first home you do!

again, trump has literally been held liable for sexual assault. this is a thing you could mention/consider if you are trying to decide whether further accusations of sexual assault are credible/meaningful, it seems like.

Lawrence Summers is a scumbag who should be shunned wherever he shows his face.
