Hi Sally. When Weiss published a supposed expose on the death of George Floyd, a veteran criminal justice reporter showed in deep detail that the piece was not just wrong but filled with falsehoods and misrepresentations. Weiss did not retract the piece. What do you think of that?

This was lazy reporting, and the Times would have done better for its audience exploring why so many Portlanders voted in DSA council. Article includes nothing from these voters. Describing Republicans in Portland as an “endangered species” is a choice.

WHYY did I move all but one of the "get files" scripts into a folder called "no"?

it is very mildly automated in that these csv files pull into a sqlite database I can query and join because ya girl doesn't understand pivoting or whatever.

SO much distraction the past 6 days on this thing, and now mom's in here emptying this closet right now bc she sunups instead of sundowns.

So I have this monthly process thing nightmare report spreadsheet hellscape I create every month, because all this manually-downloaded data was supposed to be ported to a data warehouse 3 months ago and it's not etc etc.

Anyway, my output wasn't right. I've been troubleshooting for 2 days.

Knowing how much we paid in junk hauling when we left LA, I was despairing about the cleanout here, but the estate sale guy really wanted to do one on this street full of ancient people, so I don't know if we'll make much but we won't pay any - I'm relieved!

And actually: we spent 2.5 years moving around the country with a cargo van...then + a small uhaul trailer. And I need to do a modest haul-out of the garage and closets ASAP after 1 year in that house.

Do a cleanout, friends. Pick a mild weather time in '25 or '26 and Do The Thing.
