Thank you, all of you who have been sharing your advent calendars on Bluesky this brutal December. It's lovely to see how excited and pleased you all are about your apples and yarn and books and art and things.

It's only ever at Christmas, as I get down to baking gifts of cookies, that I remember why I meant to keep all those tea tins I recycled.

Registered for a workshop where I'll make my very own light-up glazed ceramic christmas tree. Mom would be so amused.

A close-up of a Tufted Titmouse with his/her tuft blowing in the wind. I love their black eyelashes. The thin black feathers around the break are rictal bristles, which are common in many birds but their size and placement differs between species.

I'm like, whoa, my tea tastes bitter, and, sure it's tetley, not hibiscus.

Happy Sunday, Blueskiis

Miró painted the moon and the stars as a coping mechanism to escape from the cruelty and devastation of World War II into the comfort of a fantasy world.

Getting very "Jail for Mother" vibes from the cat who barfed up her treats and who is thus—quite reasonably—being denied more treats.

It's a good morning: snowed a little bit, the outside lights are up, and the bird feeder tree is full of fluffed-up borbs.

Straight out of the bottle, last night's advent calendar wine was watery and uninteresting. Allowed to breathe for nearly six hours, it is now fruity and fantastic.

This is ... wow. Yesterday I didn't even know deviled egg trees existed and now I desperately NEED one to complement my ceramic christmas tree collection.

Not very keen on this year's Aldi Merry Moments puzzle calendar. It is packaged very cheaply and the puzzle quality isn't great. Would not give as a gift. Anyway, this soup-green sleigh of presents was behind the first door.
