I know it’s easier said than done to not stress too much right now, but please keep in mind all the setbacks we’re going to face in terms of healthcare, and how damaging for your health a dysregulated nervous system can be. Please do everything you can to prioritize your wellbeing, health, & peace!

- I’d argue even moreso than just not adding captions in the first place. This specifically excludes people that are deaf, hard of hearing, have audio processing issues, etc. from accessing your content and I imagine it’s extremely confusing to see.

Yes, it’s very hard to organize and educate when we’re being censored on social media, but no, IT IS NOT OK to misuse the captions feature to circumvent that. It makes your content explicitly inaccessible to people that rely on accurate captions -

Hey diva 💕
Please remember to at least take a break from doomscrolling today to take care of yourself. Hydrate, eat, take your meds. It’s natural to feel radicalized more than ever right now, but you can’t pour from an empty cup, and you certainly can’t start a revolution without fueling your body.

-Doesn’t confirm anything but implies that the plot point has indeed been changed from Nessa being granted the ability to walk, so we shall see.

I saw a lot of their commentary on the importance of casting a real wheelchair user but haven’t seen anything about them saying they’ll use CGI or exactly how this will be handled in part 2 so I would def love to see a source on that! The closest I’ve seen is this quote from Marissa Bode which-

Oh I haven’t seen that! Where did they say that?

Unfortunately, people with disabilities were overlooked in that regard in the original show, and I think it makes sense for a modern-day production to have some revisions in that area on a show that premiered over 20 years ago.

While there’s a ton I could say on that, I think this is enough: Is Elphaba actually de-greenified in the story? Why not? She isn’t, because it would negate the message and major themes of the story.

I’ve seen a lot of discourse on whether Nessarose will gain the ability to walk in #Wicked: Part 2, and whether or not that would be problematic. One thing I’ve seen multiple times is people comparing Nessa being granted the ability to walk with Elphaba’s potential “de-greenifying” by the wizard.

The words "CEO" and "healthcare" should never be in the same sentence.

PLEASE run for your library board. A lot of bad actors are on library boards because they seek to control and diminish the library, not support it. Some boards refuse to hire qualified librarians and seek to deprofessionalize the field. It won’t change unless you join!
I’m a public librarian in a degenerating democracy, and I am pleading: Care about your library. Use it. See what programs and events it offers. And pay attention to its governing body. See who the trustees are. Consider running yourself. Libraries will need all the community support they can get. 📚

All these years, I thought all or most primaries would be as unhelpful as the one I was seeing; I was doing so much extra work managing my specialists and medications. I’m so happy this new doctor is going to take a little bit of that responsibility off my plate by helping with that!

Had my new patient appt with a new PCP today and she’s amazing. I didn’t realize how helpful a good primary can actually be!!! I haven’t left a doctor’s visit feeling this good in a long time, if ever

I will literally never get over how many of the loudest "disability justice" voices on this site don't wear masks. You only care about helping disabled people when it doesn't inconvenience you.
