As seen one someone else's post.
The economy is still humming along, though bumpier. Wait until it gets worse and it's not just vibes!

Those people clamoring for Dems to impeach Noem and abolish ICE, please explain how 47 is greater than 53. And how we can get to 67 seats in November of this year?

It's such a cliche but they wouldn't pass new restrictions and gerrymander if it didn't matter!
An insane amount of hit dogs hollering on this site today when being confronted with "yes voting does in fact matter" again, I see

All the anti-Dem posters are in full force this morning I see. Here is my response:

I said in 2020 I would crawl across broken glass without a face mask to vote out that melted candle looking ass.
Do you think 'because they might mess with elections' would stop me this year?

📣 ANNOUNCEMENT:

Last fall, in addition to my usual fundraising page to raise money VA Dems running in *competitive* state legislative districts, @90for90.bsky.social approached me with an idea to create a *second* page *specifically* to raise money for the REDDEST, LEAST competitive seats. 1/

I think some of this is good but to say this is the Dem's fault is stupid. We're not in the majority! And some of the comments, woo boy, I tell you what. Not good, very bad. People love to post but not to think critically. And this is me agreeing that this was not a good deal!
"It may not be much comfort for those bitter about what they see as a needless surrender. But there’s at least a chance that we’ll look back at this moment as a key turning point, one that produced a Democratic Party less willing to live on its knees." — @paulwaldman.bsky.social
Cue the rebellion
The Democratic base is enraged at their party's capitulation — and that's a good thing.

Fallout from tariffs, correcting for overhiring/overspending during the pandemic, over-embracing AI capabilities, general contraction of consumer spending, and a highly speculative bubble in the stock market all at the same time. Sounds great!

The most interesting trend talking to Democrats: how much Trump 2.0. radicalized moderates against Republicans. Progressives start from the point that they can't trust Republicans on anything. But moderates always thought they could do business because they had to. That's gone.

Anti-Trump protests are often written off as “cringe,” Quinta Jurecic writes. “But these dismissals both ignore the very real victories of the Resistance and miss why cringe was essential to the movement’s effectiveness.” https://theatln.tc/ybWf3bk0

Democracy isn't a spectator sport and fair elections doesn't mean unilateral disarmament.

So with profit margins shrinking and wholesale prices rising, would consumers expect to see more discounts or fewer for the year?

The highest tariffs in a century and the market shrugs. Casino season, plan accordingly.

I hope the best case scenario for the economy will be positive but weak growth (1-1.5%), moderate unemployment (4.8-6%) and inflation (3-4%) But I genuinely think the cracks we're seeing only get bigger from here.

Glad I jumped from the private sector last year!

The pervasive sense of bewilderment and dread of the last six months reminds of the quote from 'The Birdcage': "How can so much go so wrong so quickly? It's like riding a psychotic horse towards a burning stable."

I mean this with my whole heart and with every ounce of sincerity I can muster:

If you're out here shitting on Barack Obama, Joe Biden, or Kamala Harris, and in ANY way trying to blame them for what's going on now, please, go fuck yourself. You're a piece of shit, and you're not helping anyone.
