the U.S. government illegally killed him. His relatives say Alejandro Carranza was on a routine fishing trip, and his wife told reporters he left home to fish and had no ties to drug trafficking.
Colombian killed in U.S. strike was on a fishing trip, wife claims: "Why did they just take his life like that?"
Alejandro Carranza's family is questioning U.S. claims that he was carrying narcotics aboard a small vessel targeted last month.

Last week, ICE arrested and separated a father and son after a routine check-in. Six-year-old Yuanxin had just enrolled in the first grade at an elementary school in Astoria. Now he's in custody, alone. ICE won't say where. This cruelty serves no one. It must end.

Listen, if you tell me that “taxation is theft” I’m going to need you to quit driving on highways or walking on sidewalks or attending a public school or using police or fire services or city snow removal.

I would mention libraries, but…

During the shutdown, the Senate approved adding $32B to Trump's already record breaking $1 trillion Pentagon budget.

The Senate still hasn't voted on extending ACA subsidies — which would cost $35B.

It’s not about what this country can or can’t afford.

It’s about priorities.

Under Trump, the NIH is giving fewer grants to fewer scientists. The grants awarded are smaller and scientists have less time to spend them.

Projects in cancer, diabetes, aging, neurological disorder, and more are going unfunded.

A quiet policy change means the government is making fewer bets on long-term science.

As many expected, the truth is finally coming out, they were just fishermen. The family of the Colombian man killed in the Sept. 15 U.S. military strike in the Caribbean Sea has now filed a formal complaint with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, alleging

I’ve been working against school vouchers for a decade. I’ve also been watching what has happened in other states.

Missouri is following the Arizona voucher plan.

Arizona blew a $1 billion hole in their state budget last year because tax money was diverted to private religious schools.

In many countries, throwing the military under the bus and blaming them for stuff you made them do, often breeds the sort of events you read about on the front pages of papers like coups and revolutions and whatnot.

The worst part about the boat strikes - regardless of who ordered what and besides the ultimate tragedy of lives lost - is they’re forever a stain on the professionalism and dignity of the United States military.

They’re an insult to every American who ever sacrificed to do the right thing.

The tidal wave of faux outrage from Trump and his sycophants when Democratic senators posted a video advising soldiers not to follow illegal orders was overwrought. And, like clockwork, actual illegal orders were given by Secretary of War Crimes Pete Hegseth. You can’t make this shit up.
