This account does not belong to a poet, education worker, or scholar. Who'd want to read Fugue & Strike (Black Ocean, 2023) & People Finder, Buffalo (Cloak, 2024) and etc? Garbage, labor obsessed.
Democratic leadership still doesn't think any of these things matter enough for them to act: genocide, gender pogroms, military and military style raids of minority communities, ICE concentration camps, shooting poets in the face.

"Neighbor, you should have made it home to your child, to the bright warmth of his laughter, but our country is at war with its people, and your goodness makes you an enemy, a citizen insurgent. "
An Elegy for Renee Nicole Good by Danez Smith

"The role of us poets is to witness the world, to see with our eyes and souls the delicate threads of truth, past, and possibility around us."

Instead of backseat fantasizing about liberal imperial regime change operations, let's abolish the fuck out of ICE.

We are far past the stage of permissiveness with white-supremacist violence inside DHS. We are witnessing ICE transition into a death squad.

This cannot be reformed. The only question is who will fight to abolish it, and who will accommodate it instead.
Either ICE Is Abolished or It Will Kill Many More Renee Goods
Minnesota is just the beginning of ICE's transformation into a right-wing death squad. But it can be the end

This is the same area in St. Paul where ice just rammed a driver and pulled them out of their vehicle on the street. Video of that is starting to make it into the public

I really cannot stress, even if someone who has done this academically for years now how fast this is accelerating

Bovino is on the ground doing door to door raids in St. Paul Minnesota at this hour.

These house raids are being done by a mix of ice and customs and boarder patrol including bortac teams.

Liberal imperialism is opposing unilateral war making powers but not touching the sanctions regimes that collectively punish entire peoples, leave them struggling to feed themselves day in day out. We'll see if they even question legitimacy of putting M on trial in U.S.

Then they stole her body. Anything resembling justice and accountability will have to transcend the formal structures.
That cop shot that lady then called her a “fucking bitch” as her truck went on to crash. In the midst of all the other shit there is to be angry about, that last comment from him is really just… there are no words.

They don't have capacity to terrorize more than 2-3 cities at a time.

Which means they rotate teams to new cities without relief.

Which means consistent resistance by fresh activists in each new city will break them over time.

Which means if you're city's not occupied, rest up and get ready.

I've seen refugee aid efforts defeat multi-year occupations by regional / national police forces who deployed 30x the amount of resources. Hell I've been part of that.

It is *very* possible.

ICE's budget has a limit.
Make them use it.

ICE's morale has a limit.
Make them lose it.

This is under-reported: "Venezuela’s new acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, is the country’s oil minister. She’s long been the go-to contact for senior oil executives, with strong ties to Republicans in the oil industry who actively pushed for her to lead post-Maduro Venezuela."
I’m don’t like conspiracy theories.

But the longer I report on climate change and Big Oil, the clearer it becomes that what we’re dealing with an *actual conspiracy,* and we need to label it as such.

Trump’s latest actions in Venezuela make this all the more clear.
It's time to embrace climate conspiracy
Trump’s Venezuela oil play exposes what climate reporting has documented for decades—if we’re willing to say it out loud.

this dude's imagination is dead. i dunno: rebuilding the communities they are destroying. digging footers, laying bricks, retrofitting HVAC for schools, community centers, & housing. or re-education camps. they can pick. unless they shot, killed, or raped someone. which is a meaningful # of them.
