@the-avocado.bsky.social this week is now at the Stakes miniseries in their ongoing Adventure Time recap.

I was one of 7 writers for it, and I used the episode “Empress Eyes” to talk about the show and how it’s close to anime. (1/2) the-avocado.org/2025/11/03/c...

Came across this clip of @qnsarjeta.bsky.social ranting against this growing need that people have of art needing to signal political sides and spell out a single clear message and thought it was too good to not subtitle & share with my friends of the anglosphere

This reminds me of when Toy Story 3 was coming out and my family had the option of watching a plethora of TV spots Pixar/Disney made for specific characters on Xfinity on Demand.

I still recall my mom saying “you could watch the whole movie with these!”
4 different trailers for ‘AVENGERS: DOOMSDAY’ will be attached with ‘AVATAR: FIRE & ASH’

Each trailer will play for 1 week, before switching to the next.

There was a sketch in the Cartoon Network MAD show that basically used his design for the hunter that shit and killed Bambi’s mom.

That’s how evil he looks:

I feel like I mention this a lot but Gainazine is a timely read right now and you should check it out if you haven’t yet, it’s the best high level overview of the Gainax’s early days. There’s a few days left on this bundle, just get all the Zimmerit zines at once and have a good time.
For a very limited time we're offering a complete set of the Zimmerit 'zines at a discounted price. This is a great way to grab all of them at once or pick up a gift for the anime fan in your life.

Order now and it'll arrive before Christmas (if you're in the US)

said this about a month back when they originally teased this deal. there's a disastrous amount of y'all who wont translate this dissatisfaction into direct action, which lowkey leads to shit like this.

do you want to continue supporting these dogshit decisions or do you want change?

I will go to my grave screaming about how Pennywise being a clown hits completely different for anyone under 40 or 50, because the original intent was that Pennywise LOOKED HARMLESS, because “IT” predates scary clowns, & if the story were modern, Pennywise would manifest as a ninja turtle or Luffy
Welcome to Derry reveals why It loves to use the form of Pennywise the Clown so much.

I know it's Thursday already, but I just wanna say how great it is that we're in a world where I see people sharing "obscure" anime that is... actually kind of obscure! I love to see people getting in there with the shovels and uncovering some weird nonsense! Keep it up, gang!

You could benefit from thinking about the intended audience of anime you like and what they get out of it.

Shonen, shoujo, & kodomomuke are just labels, yet they’re still indicators of who the author & company wants to experience said show.

Great animation, but I always appreciate when PSAs like this present animals as fellow humans (like the turtle reef one by Aardman).

Quite original in terms of inspiration; not often you see artists replicate Don Bluth specifically; most people can't tell the difference between that era and Disney.

I love seeing BTS like this bc it comes from a piece of art where you're like "How did he do that??" to watching carefully over the process and going "Ooooooh, so that's how he did that" and unlocking some new knowledge for yourself that makes art seem less impossible
