OUR FLAGS! NOT THEIRS! North East England - Christian, Lib Dem, love family, travel, reading, food, laughter and wildlife. Committed to social justice, Europe and a fairer, more sustainable world.
Yes - precisely! We do need to hear the fine detail of Green policy.

I don't seem to have seen much.
You need to tell the British people what the greens would do if they had a budget? What savings they would make. How much taxes taxpayers would have to pay. NHS. Policing. Schools. Transport services etc how would the greens budget?
The very first thing the Prime Minister does is use the household budget metaphor.

A metaphor - this report into BBC coverage - said could be "easily misleading."

Why is the government trying to mislead the country?

Oh! I'm braced!
Brace yourselves for some predictable howls of outrage in the media over new taxes on Britain’s most expensive homes. Suspect this will be a better reflection of the financial circumstances of newspaper editors and broadcast execs than those of their readers and viewers.

We'll soon have the spectacle of Farage making himself out to be a victim - "I'm being scapegoated because of a few childish comments. It's not fair."

These people are always the victims!

Absolutely tax them! It's a filthy industry causing untold damage.
UK gambling industry made £15.6bn in 2024 (£16.8bn in 2025)

Most companies holed up in Gibraltar & Malta, dodge UK taxes. Some pay corporation tax at the rate of 3%-4%. No VAT on gambling.

Public bears the cost of gambling addiction.

Firms resent paying extra tax to clear their mess.

Tax them.

That's just the economic cost!
The true cost of Brexit revealed. 🚨

They promised £350m a week. Instead we’re paying the price daily.

We must fix our relationship with Europe to fix Britain.

With this government? I doubt it.
Announce a referendum for next summer. It'll be a 60%+ rejoin vote and hammer through the votes in Parliament with the huge pro EU majority in there. The sooner we start the sooner it gets done and we can minimize the damage.
November 26, 2025 at 11:39 AM
For all that I'd love to "just rejoin", I only wish it were that simple!
Just rejoin ffs. Tell all the Brexit wankers we can't afford their little Englander cosplaying bullshit.
The UK is losing up to £250m a day in lost tax revenue due to the economic impact of Brexit, House of Commons Library analysis for the Lib Dems suggests.

Brexit has blown a "black hole of [up to] £90 billion a year in the public finances" the party says. Even under lower estimates the hit is ~£65bn

You really don't know what it's like to live on Quality Street!

I often wonder if we should try to rename it - I wonder what suggestions people might have!

People aren’t bothered about the minimum wage or income tax.
They want a return to good old fashioned Quality Street!

I remain to be convinced by this! Collapsing?
To add to this

I suspect it’s the floating, badly informed people who thought Farage “tells it like it is” who are shocked at this clear racism in his history and character

The flag shagging, roundabout painting racists not only won’t care, they’ll see it as a positive thing

They must be stopped
Reform is collapsing in the polls.

I’ve been saying for ages that they’ve already peaked and that scrutiny and exposure was always going to destroy Farage.

I’d be amazed if he’s even still an MP by next summer. I fully expect him to rage quit, saying Parliament “is silencing” him.
