OUR FLAGS! NOT THEIRS! North East England - Christian, Lib Dem, love family, travel, reading, food, laughter and wildlife. Committed to social justice, Europe and a fairer, more sustainable world.
The damage will never be undone!

Rejoining the EU will be a long and fraught process, if it can be achieved.

I'd love to think it can, sooner rather than later, but there are many obstacles.

This woman spent several years and a lot of money to prosecute one of the largest bunches of election deniers and tried to put justice to work, in one day the asshole who took over put that all to waste! This is why people have no faith in the justice system! Shame on Georgia!

Raising the Minimum Wage is welcome news to low paid workers but unless we also see real growth for businesses, we risk jobs disappearing.

The Government must revitalise our high streets with a VAT cut for hospitality until 2027 & secure a stronger deal with the EU to unleash growth.
Minimum wage to rise again from April to £12.71 for over-21s
The move has been welcomed, but some experts say it will not cover the current cost of living.

It absolutely wasn't. Might be showing my age here, but 20 years ago was not actually that long ago, in terms of this
Nigel Farage asked about Reform MS Laura Anne Jones (who the Senedd Commissioner found had used a racist term in a staff WhatsApp chat in August 2023 while discussing TikTok writing: “No chinky spies for me.”)
"Well, she used a word that colloquially, probably was meant in a nice way 20 years ago."

The disaster hasn't just been economic! Britain has become more isolated and less attractive because of Brexit.

Supporters of Ukraine just unfurled the world’s biggest 🇺🇦 flag on the White House ellipse calling for the U.S. not to abandon the country in its efforts to resist the Russian attack.

I hope they're very disappointed!
Putin and Russia are counting on their asset, the US Government, giving them the win in Ukraine that their overrated and incompetent army couldn’t deliver.

Thanks to Pete Hegseth's incompetence and inebriation, everyone is now talking about Mark Kelly's numerous medals.
You may have seen Pete Hegseth & Buzz Patterson mock @captmarkkelly.bsky.social U.S. Navy uniform and erroneously claim medals are misplaced (they are not).

Every military uniform is a walking resumé.

Let's take a tour of Sen. Kelly's impressive career:

'Mansion tax' barely even touches the sides. Wholesale reform of council tax is needed.

Labour again lack the courage to tax the wealthiest adequately & the conviction to properly support the millions struggling to pay their rent & bills

Is this what Reform promised?
Local Reform UK has accelerated their refuk - Durham’s Reform-run council is punishing its own voters by scrapping full council-tax relief and forcing 26,000 low-income working-age residents to pay for the first time.
