"bottom-up analysis"? 🧐
pure bottom-up analysis without considering top down factors is always less use for me:

'Meanwhile, analysts underreact to macro drivers. And where analysts underreact, investors can make more money because future share price changes are larger.'

Labour's anti-asylum policies are already fundamentally inhumane and discriminatory. Applying them retrospectively is pure cruelty though. It serves absolutely no purpose. Meanwhile it will increase the costs and bureaucracy of an already dysfunctional Home Office.

Anna's Archives is, AFAICT, like LibGen, although with a subscriber model. Such sites seem to have sprung up as a response to academic publishing, where research gets gate kept for uji libraries & the very wealthiest of independent scholars. It sucks if it's being used to undermine fiction writers..

Please share & consider donating - I know we're probably all strapped between all the funds rn but I am so angry higher education workers continue to face this kind of exploitation & hardship. Solidarity with everyone affected including Dr Mark! ✊
#MutualAid If anyone's able to help me and my partner Ms J out, that would be SO much appreciated. With teaching over for the year, I don't have an income from employment. I need to help Ms J out with uni fees and other urgent needs! Love you forever (even if you just share!)

My god what a film, booming Taipei and the perilous tangle of personal and professional lives intertwined in the structure of a Chaplinesque screwball comedy that’s at once laugh out loud funny and deadly serious. How did this guy do something this great between the masterpieces of ABSD and Yi Yi?

(Rhetorical question: of course they do.)

Several reasons why we don't talk about British state oppression in Malaysia but one weird detail here is that the Malaysian Chinese anti-colonial resistance were branded bandits & terrorists for *insurance reasons* (avoiding UK gov having to do payouts to rubber firms instead of private insurers)

As my parents & I watch a driver undertake the queue onto a sliproad by driving down the gutter with one wheel well onto the pavement somewhere in Cheadle Hulme, I'm thinking again about regional variants in shit driving. London: feckless. Greater Manchester: feral. Anyone got any others?
