Paul is a wonderful photographer - his #photography on this BlueSky is stunning and this photo of the cottage is one of the best.
'The Quiet Cottage'

A classic image made in #Connemara, back in 2020. One of those shoots that just stays with you. I’ve since photographed this location a few times since, but never as successfully as I did on my first visit.

We’re delighted the cruel two-child limit is being scrapped in full. This will lift 470,000 children out of severe hardship.

Thanks to everyone who campaigned to make this happen! 👏 👏 👏
Fantastic news! The Chancellor just announced the end of the 2 child limit. This will protect 100s of 1000s of children from growing up facing hunger & hardship, ease pressure on public services & boost our economy. #Budget2025

With key players missing the #pars lost 1-0 at Partick Thistle who go joint top of the league. The team did not play well as recently but such a young side will always struggle to maintain consistent high standards.

"Here’s what makes this particularly galling. Many of the biggest online gambling operators are based offshore in Gibraltar or Malta. They avoid UK corporation tax almost entirely while hoovering up billions from British punters."

Online gambling is one of the biggest employers in #malta
UK gambling industry made £15.6bn in 2024 (£16.8bn in 2025)

Most companies holed up in Gibraltar & Malta, dodge UK taxes. Some pay corporation tax at the rate of 3%-4%. No VAT on gambling.

Public bears the cost of gambling addiction.

Firms resent paying extra tax to clear their mess.

Tax them.

The Israeli hostages have been released and the world has looked away. The genocide continues in Gaza while Israeli military continues supporting illegal settlers as they attack Palestinians who live legally in the West Bank.
Israeli group B’Tselem notes that, since a supposed “ceasefire” in Gaza, Israel has:

* killed 345 Palestinians,

* denied food to 70% of the population who need it,

* demolished a further 1,500 buildings.

All of this is in blatant violation of the agreement.

We have known for some time how the pursuit and collection of public debt inflicts further financial harm on some of our poorest families.

“This important research confirms that impact is felt most often by women and most often by those caring for children or other family members."
We've published new research today with partners @aberlourcharity.bsky.social & @opfs.org.uk revealing that women in Scotland are often caught in a cycle of public debt which traps their family in hardship.

We're calling on all levels of government to act.

"You need to commit to giving: it’s not something to do casually or as a way of assuaging your conscience. Your focus should be on how you – with your particular mindset, passions, talents and concerns about the state of the world – can best make a difference."
