companies don't understand the value of institutional knowledge or that 40% of what makes most companies run are odd workarounds for dumb/nonsensical parts of the system that veteran employees invented to solve a problem and the only way it's transferred to new employees is via the oral tradition
The speed at which companies gut crucial mentors and talent with a swift rug pull continues to leave this space worse. Fewer jobs to sustain the industry, fewer fresh talent getting critical lessons, and an all around worse experience for everyone involved. Fuck it all.

my mom taught me there's two kinds of businesses: hot dog stands and art galleries
- hot dog stands protect territory and keep competition off their turf
- art galleries benefit from more adjacent art galleries, cluster together to amplify reach/support
