this was Dokoupil's best chance to show that he is actually a journalist and not just Bari Weiss' hand puppet, and all I can say is I hope he lubed up good
Tony Dokoupil: "Mr. President, thank you very much. For the record, I do think that I'd have this job even if the others guys won."

Donald Trump: "Yeah, but at a lesser salary."

[Dokoupil then giggles as they wrap up the segment.]

A CBS News staffer merely reacted with this: "HAHAHAHAHA"

He’s not wrong.
DOKOUPIL: When I travel the country, they tell me they don't feel it because grocery prices are up--

TRUMP: They're going to now. I've only been here for 11 months. I inherited a mess. If she got in, you wouldn't have this job right now.

"For (me and) my friends, everything; for my enemies, the law."
Perhaps the most newsworthy bit in the NYT "interview" with Trump: He did tell ICE to go easy on his OWN industry and farms. The latter was pretty clear.

[He goes on to discuss the Korean plant.]

Long before Yeltsin had his shit rocked by the bounty of a suburban grocery store, you had Robin Williams' (RIP) in "Moscow on the Hudson" so overwhelmed by coffee choices in his first visit to a US market that he has a panic attack.
This doesn't happen by accident. It's a shit-ton of work that people need to be paid for, including the organization itself.

Q: "Do you believe that deadly force was necessary?"

Trump: "It was highly disrespectful of law enforcement. The woman and her friend were highly disrespectful of law enforcement…Law enforcement should not be in a position where they have to put up with this stuff."

That video was leaked to Alpha News and proudly shared by members of the Administration for one of two reasons: (1) they sincerely believe it is exculpatory; or (2) they know it is exactly the type of Content their base craves. Both are horrific for different but psychologically related reasons.

The lesson as always is block more people for less bad behavior and hope Bluesky kicks out more people over stupid bullshit, actually

my hot take is that I don't think it's this website specifically that's toxic. the Circumstances are toxic and nobody really knows what to do about it so they come online and scream. and if I may offer an alternative: actually going outside and screaming feels better.
