WHAT WHO PUTS SOMETHING LIKE THIS IN THEIR GAME
In Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, Mario and Luigi's level-up stat gains are bizarrely based on what level Bowser is currently at. If he is at a "good" level, they will be several times more powerful. The game does not tell you which levels are good and which are bad.

It feels weird to both be in noticeably better health (still got a cough, but it's nowhere near as bad as it was a few days ago) and mostly caught up on work. I can actually sit down and relax and not feel guilty!
I think I'll kick back with some PowerWash Simulator and del Toro's Frankenstein. 😌

I don't regret leaving Twitter for a second. I genuinely feel for the people who are stuck over there. Bluesky? I could get by without it.

I quit the former Twitter two years ago this week, and I am here to tell you that my online life got a lot better for having left it. In two years I've not been tempted to go back, and I haven't felt any penalty in either career or community for not being there. It's nice to be here and not there.

If someone, anyone has to auction off pieces of their own life story to pay for medical treatment and care, then that is proof positive that the system is irrevocably broken and needs to be replaced with something that isn’t based on profit via the infliction of cruelty.

I've been sick or otherwise unwell for nearly a month straight at this point. Really hope this is the end of it, because I've been coming down with stuff faster than my body can recover from it. Kind of feels like I'm a patchwork amalgamation of half-healed illnesses and injuries at this point. Lol

Best Buy has called me twice now to try to get me to re-order Metroid Prime 4 through them. They're almost doing just as much work to promote the game as Nintendo is!

I hate the current state of XIV discourse, because while, yes, the harassment Sena Bryer has faced is unconscionable and should be condemned, mischaracterizing and hand-waving DT criticism as coming from a loud minority of transphobic/misogynistic players is a stunningly ignorant take.
FF14 being nominated for best ongoing in a year when I have seen its players do very little but constantly complain about a quality dip, with devs even copping to it, while Street Fighter 6 on a total tear not even getting a nod is making my head spin

Sitting here tonight thinking that I was so blessed to grow up in an era where games like Katamari Damacy stoked my imagination and opened my mind to entire worlds of new and interesting possibilities. I sometimes wonder if I would be where I am today if not for irreplaceable experiences like that.

I'm enjoying Live A Live SO much. I just reached the penultimate chapter, and this game is a master class in keeping it simple while almost constantly trying new things--a feat that makes each chapter feel familiar yet wholly unique. This may just be one of the best RPGs I've ever played. Yowza.

Uh... Well, on the plus side, my ultrasound didn't reveal anything life-threatening or bad enough to warrant emergency surgery.
But on the other hand, they weren't able to identify what's wrong. Sooo... Not much I can do right now except shrug and monitor my health for any sudden changes.
