Hey, I'm Marche. Been in localization for a few years now. I work primarily as a J-E editor, but I dabble in writing and QA here and there too!

It's honestly impressive how they've been shooting themselves in the foot at every single turn with this remake. At this point, I've made my choice. I'll be skipping Kiwami 3 and just playing the original (which I already have access to on Steam; don't worry, I know it's getting delisted).

No matter how many times I play Nioh, I find it virtually impossible to follow the story, but like... not in a bad way? In the same way that I am an outsider with passing knowledge of Japanese history, so is the protagonist, William. I kind of enjoy how, like him, I'm just along for the ride. Haha.

My guilty pleasure has always been Ubisoft-style open-world games. Say what you will about Assassin's Creed and its ilk, but sometimes a low-effort mental break where I'm bouncing between markers on a map is /exactly/ what the doctor ordered.
Similar to how farming sims are for others, I suppose. 🤔

This has done wonders for helping me get through the end of a very mentally demanding week. I love Klonoa so much. 😭
My static made it to phase 2 of M12S tonight. I'm loving this tier, but yowza, these DPS checks are no joke. They must've really tweaked some of these numbers to compensate for the extra weeks of tome gear, because I just don't see how you're meant to clear these fights otherwise.

One thing that's stuck with me from an episode of a history podcast I listened to last year is that the notion of "learning from history" is flawed in that we, as a species, have proven time and time again that we're largely incapable of doing so.
I yearn for a world where that isn't the case.
