To be in public office right now is to constantly ask yourself: How do I make sure I'm standing on the right side of history?

There's a simple answer.

The wrong side of history will always tell you to be afraid - the right side of history will always expect you to be brave.

I just really need everybody to understand that everything that’s happening in and to the global economy now (and all the businesses and people in it) is the entirely predictable result of the intentional decisions of one guy who doesn’t understand how the global economy works.

Looks like Prohect 2025 is pushing on. The EPA plans to end long-standing rules requiring polluters to report climate-warming emissions.

Climate experts expressed shock and dismay at the move. “It would be a bit like unplugging the equipment that monitors the vital signs of a patient that is critically ill,” one said.

A tricky thing about modern society is that no one has any idea when they don’t die.

Like, the number of lives saved by controlling air pollution in America is probably over 200,000 per year, but the number of people who think their life was saved by controlling air pollution is zero.

Hey all. Please call your reps and get these tariffs under the control of Congress again and erased from the books.
We need housing. We are looking at 25%+ construction increases with tariffs. No one wins in a trade war.
As markets melt down around the world, Congress could act right now to prevent an economic collapse before markets open on Monday.

The only thing standing in the way is a few spineless Republicans.

This matters. I hope a parade of senators do this and start to slow and stop the government in protest. We need hope out here. And the Senator “filibustering” by reading our letters matters. It’s important to watch him impacted by what he is reading, too. Thank you.
I’ve taken the Senate floor and will speak for as long as I’m physically able to lift the voices of Americans who are being harmed and not being heard in this moment of crisis. Watch here:

A stark reminder that climate scientists have been conservative in their assessments-or thought presenting all the data would propel change.
Instead, this US government plans to accelerate destruction-including privatizing and destroying national parkland.

Whenever I show the map of the climatological coldest day or month of the year, people always ask why it's December in most of the West and not January. It didn't used to be this way. The answer is, ... the month of January has warmed much faster than December, so December just hasn't caught up yet.

“There is only one path forward: prevent any further increase in atmospheric energy levels. That means keeping emissions out of the atmosphere. That means burning less carbon or capturing it at the point of combustion. These are the only two levers. Everything else is delay or distraction.” 🧵
A stark warning from insurance giant Allianz:

"We are fast approaching warming levels where insurers won't be able to offer coverage for many climate risks. The premiums required exceed what people or companies can pay. This is already happening"...

NWS just announced a major reduction in upper-air (weather balloon) observations due to staffing shortages.

Omaha and Rapid City losing balloon launches altogether, with launches cut in half at 6 other sites.

Losing this many launches could affect severe weather forecasting and computer models.
