This is an article from NPR of what happened in 1965 when our government ended an agreement that allowed Mexican farm workers by the hundreds of thousands to harvest our crops. Some idiot named Wirtz decided that American teenagers, specifically male athletes could do the work. Wirtz wanted 20,000 but only 18,200 boys signed up. Some quit within hours, the rest within a short while because it was back breaking work in excruciating heat. It failed. The attached picture is of them in a bus before they started work. I animated this one because the ACA subsidy crisis isn’t static - 25 million people are about to get pushed off a cliff by Republicans so billionaires can enjoy tax breaks.

When the subsidies vanish, premiums spike, people fall off their plans, and health declines.

Insurers have a plan for that.
