"Why won't you say anything?" he pleaded with the lamp.

I'm been at a Richard Tice press conference at which he:
• Refused to say whether he still believes Nigel Farage's school accusers made up their claims, calling the row "old news".
• Refused twice to condemn a Reform candidate who said David Lammy should "go home" to the Caribbean.

The BBC is not just any other institution. It's a core part of this country's identity. It's ours to criticise, ours to get cross with, ours to love and ours to the end.

By attacking it Trump may actually be doing us all a favour as we are obliged to remember that.

HURRAH! Petitions are crap at making gov'ts do things they don't want to. But they are good for two things: First, making them explain why they won't do something, but second (and more important) nudging/giving them permission to do something they DO want, but that's been crowded out bandwidth-wise.

Trump is seeking "punitive damages for the extensive reputational harm inflicted"

I doubt it can be shown it affected his reputation, given that his reputation was already apalling, including hundreds of documented lies and filmed threats of violence. So: false
