A reminder: this is an Irishman with valid papers speaking about how he's being held in US concentration camps. If you don't have to go to the US, do not go to the US. "GDC" is not "have to go". One denial at the border is going to mark you for life, and that's the best of the bad outcomes.

This is the aftermath of an ICE kidnapping a few blocks from my home in St. Paul—an hour ago. A quiet street full of broken glass and at least three wrecked cars. The target of the kidnapping was taken away by ambulance. He was on a stretcher and covered by a sheet, though a cop said he was alive.

I was not ever a Dawson's Creek fan, but The Rules Of Attraction is such a legitimately great film-- the specificity it has to my own undergrad XP at Kenyon is just ^uncanny^-- and JVDB's performance in that remains one of my favorites of that era.
