While Hegseth sits in air conditioned offices and orders the military to fire on shipwreck survivors.

After causing the shipwreck.

Got it.
Q: So you didn't see any survivors after that first strike?

HEGSETH: I did not personally see survivors. The thing was on fire. This is called the fog of war. This is what you in the press don't understand. You sit in your air conditioned offices and plant fake stories in the Washington Post

I've said it before, and I will say it again: if you are intrigued by the concept of Maradaine and all of the crossover characters that pop up in one book and then in the next series -

This is where I think you should start:
A MURDER OF MAGES
The Maradaine Constabulary Book One

Inspectors Satrine Rainey—a former spy—and Minox Welling—an untrained mage—are two detectives protecting Maradaine from crime, both magical and mundane.

....just noting again that "grab everything that has Karen Lord's name on the cover" is a rule that has never steered me wrong.
Today! I am so happy and proud that this is out in the world, and so grateful to my friends and co-editors @older.bsky.social and @annaleen.bsky.social and all the amazing contributors to We Will Rise Again.

Yes.

I genuinely cannot believe that this needs to be said, but the United States should not be blowing up ANY boats in the Caribbean.
It's great that reporting on the double tap has spotlighted the abject criminality of this Administration.

But don't forget: Venezuela is not waging war on America or Americans, and the men killed were not combatants.

The first strike was every bit as illegal as the second.

Sigh.

Usually I'm over here squawking about the need to fund/have more history classes in United States schools, but I think we've just shown that we need some more basic English/American literature classes as well.
here's the whole comment. imagine thinking that romance and romantasy and YA are the only books written in first person. that's WILLLLLLLLD.

That cancelled TV show you'll never stop thinking about.

I personally call it "solid way to escape holiday stress for a bit" but I do recognize that descriptions vary.
For one day only, my cozy-spooky romantasy novella A Marriage of Undead Inconvenience is 99c in the US!

The @nytimes.com called it "a charmingly subversive treat." 🦇

Check it out!

Whose poetry was rather curious
He spoke of star trails
And cosmic travails
But the rhyme scheme was hard to endure-ious
