This is just it: Berman is gambling that Clearlake will never wake up and say “for the cost of Garnacho, we could fill Stamford Bridge twice a week more.”
Right, the cost of every single big team in Europe running you into the ground overnight is like, One Niklas Fullkrug. They can wake up tomorrow and decide to put you in the dirt permanently if you don't cement your reputation as the best place to be.

Most of what Berman is saying here is effectively a pitch for sovereign wealth funds and larger private equity firms to start purchasing existing clubs, and larger expansion fees.
Berman is right re: watching TV, but missing that there is an entire "zoom school" generation that love going to games.

San Diego fans got let down. Los Angeles fans got let down. Now it’s DC fans’ turn to get let down. Next up will be Portland fans, then Seattle fans, etc etc etc until the whole league is a slightly-better WPSL.
at this point trin should just go to europe. the message will be that she got too big for the league and they weren't committed enough to grow with her. good luck convincing broadcast partners to give you more money when they know your most marketable stars can easily outgrow the league.

BlueSky has hit critical mass. You can see just by the numbers of comments, likes, reskeets, etc. They've jumped in that exponential way that social sites get when they've "made it". In the updated history of the bird app, the last chapter will be about this past week being the thing that killed it.
