Listen to this podcast if you follow Australian politics.

50 years ago on 11 November 1975, the Whitlam govt was dismissed. Coalition had held govt for 23 dreary years & did not accept defeat.

Key perpetrators were Malcolm Fraser, GG Kerr, The Queen, Prince Charles. #auspol #TheDismissal
Launching Pearlcast - the 50th anniversary of the Dismissal of the Whitlam Government. Editor-in-chief John Menadue – the living link to the scandal; Jenny Hocking, author of The Palace Letters and Brian Toohey, the journalist who has dug deepest into the darkest elements of the events. #auspol

Not surprised.
I'm presently digging out some winter gear 2go 2 melb. I've had a look at the 4caste so I'm tossing in wet weather gear as well- I'm actually about 2put a new garden bed in which will b sufficiently difficult without getting wet thru
Knew it had 2b snowing somewhere. Heck it was cold. The outside temp gauge suddenly dropped 2 7deg- Igave up on outside. Twas a bit of a shock after days of warmth- I'd been working in teeshirts so it has 2 have been reasonable.
Okay !!
Its so jolly cold here make me wonder where in Vic it is snowing !!
After so many wonderful days this present cold is not funny.
I had my bag all packed 2go 2melb 2do a gardening job, I going 2have 2repack this time with winter gear !!
[Sod the bom site it is a nightmare] #auspol
I'm always surprised IF any usa political dill actually knows anything about Aus- purposeful ignorance?- Aus medicare, social services ect r not in their interest 2acknowledge. That's b4 you consider compulsory voting + our independent, excellent AEC.
With all it's faults, Aus has democracy

Just watched online presentation by a US constitutional law expert who talked about America sliding into authoritarianism. Someone asked him what country has the strongest democracy in the world. He said the US 😳 I guess Australia - mandatory pref voting, independently operated - doesn’t exist then?

How do we ever stop these scammers ?

I posted this on the bird site so I'll post it here too.
Thank you for posting this.
Anyone who has not experienced chronic pain would have no idea what is being discussed, which is one of many problems ppl have trying 2get medical help- doctors r just smart ppl who also do not always understand pain
I've never been able 2 explain pain. Reading you both explain it I now understand a bit more. At a guess I only try 2 get relief if the pain is preventing me doing the stuff I'm wanting 2do, the rest just is.

One of the problems with pain scales is they don’t take into account the level of constant pain humans can get accustomed to and just shrug off. I lived with extreme chronic back pain for something like three years and by the end (before it got better) I was so used to it that I hardly noticed.
The only bit of my reaction that hopefully won't get me kicked off here is what the actual f##k.
Accepted and returned.
At present the world is nuts and isolating many people- we all need to be looking after each other.
