Man I was sleeping on the movie Lake Mungo for years because the poster looked so cheap mid-00's. But it might be one of the creepiest (and saddest) horror movies I've seen. No jump scares, just brilliant atmosphere and writing. Australian horror hits different I guess.

One thing I do love about the south is our more tropical flowers. Below are the banana flower (pink) and the gorgeous ginger lilies, which remind me of Marilyn Monroe’s fluttering white dress. Their smell is divine. Sweet, creamy, a little fruity, not unlike jasmine or gardenia, but stronger.

A banana flower: a conical shaped flower with bright and I mean bright fuschia pink petals in the shape of a cone with little yellow stamens radiating around them. Some ginger lilies which are white with fluttering elegant petals of pure white. They look like little dancers

Today the dog used the might of her three pounds to protect me from the ferocious monster we call Danaus Plexippus. I am safe.

Truly, I am fortunate to have been spared the mighty pains and wicked injuries the beast would have caused had my guardian not yipped at it incessantly and in my ear.

Has anyone else read Tom Jones by Henry Fielding (1749)? It's such a massive book and does drag in places but God the melodrama, the screwball comedy, and the happy ending where the villains get what they deserve, it's so cathartic.

I miss Minnesota weather so much. 72 here at 8 am and up to 80 by 9 before i could take a morning walk and now it's edging toward 90. Absolutely hateful -_-

Publicly calling out my abuser former friend and then blocking his ass on all socials after he decided to be racist on a post of mine (on fb yeah i know i know) was so cathartic. I feel like I finally cut something toxic out of my system.

I keep seeing posts about how he was a "good Christian man." He objectively was not good. He uses his platform to spread hate of marginalized groups, using Christianity as his excuse for doing so.

Man as a Minnesotan lemme tell you I'm glad I was traveling today b/c seeing the handwinging over Charlie Kirk from people who immediately forgot about those babies at Annunciation or about Rep. Hortman and her husband has pissed me the f off. Giving that man more attention than children, ffs.
