Below is a Harvey Milk performance on an Atlanta radio station back in 1994. They had only been a band for about two years. Whether you know them or not, holy hell this rips. If you aren't familiar, I *highly* recommend giving them a chance.

I moved to SF in 1998 right after college, and some of my favorite shows ever were at Bottom of the Hill. Don Cab, Rumah Sakit, Camera Obscura, The Faint - that’s just off the top of my head. I loved that venue and it will be missed.

I moved to SF in 1998 right after college, and some of my favorite shows ever were at Bottom of the Hill. Don Cab, Rumah Sakit, Camera Obscura, The Faint - that’s just off the top of my head. I loved that venue and it will be missed.
This is, without a doubt, one of the greatest albums of all time.

One of the best things about being friends with @highter.bsky.social and @belownirvana.bsky.social is that I get the benefit of their restless musical curiosity. They hipped me to a Japanese label that digs up ‘60s and ‘70s funk & soul, & the comps are an absolute delight.

If you're a heavy '70s fan, definitely give this a whirl.
It's a shame Orange Peel has been lost in the rush of early bands shaping the krautrock sound. Big Cream/Purple vibes, and killer guitar playing.
Orange Peel: Orange Peel (1972)
Gotta love the dusty corner where you come across those "one and done" bands. Especially in Germany, where the krautrock reaction to the rise of the American and UK rock scenes spawned any number of bands reaching to find a musical expression that embraced the rise of that country's youth. Orange Peel may have taken a safer path with their self-titled album - this is very much indebted to the aforementioned scenes - but when it's done this well, who really cares?

This really hit the spot for me. I very much enjoyed the previous album, and those folk horror vibes go so well with their characteristically angular riffs.

Yellow Eyes- "Confusion Gate." USBM's finest return to their more metallic works after a foray into stranger territory, but they've brought some of that sense of otherworldly wonder to their classic sound.
