Not in the Epstein files:
- trans people
- migrants and asylum seekers
- people who arrive in small boats
- benefits claimants

In the Epstein files:
- rich white guys who tell you (or pay people to tell you) to hate the people above

Two people outside the post office in the pissing rain and wind huddled under a child’s umbrellas complaining about immigrants getting benefits.

Get a grip England you degenerate little cesspool.

We look like the team with ten men that had a midweek European fixture. Embarrassing.

‘Volto Esposto 1’ reduction linocut print. Inking and printing the third layer of ink.

Inspired [very loosely] by ‘Berbarian Sound Studio’, ‘Don’t Look Now’, avant-garde electronic music, Peter Strickland, the music of Broadcast, Giallo movies and soundtracks.

As it’s LGBTQ+ History Month I thought I’d share some bits from my new book Tales of the Suburbs: LGBTQ+ Lives Behind Net Curtains (out in mid March) just to give a flavour of what was going on beyond the privet…

This morning; Junglist! compilation on Soul Jazz Records.

Reissue of the year and it’s only January.

Been to a club to see Mr Scruff play records - a phrase I’ve not uttered in 25 years - and my favourite bit was people doing daft robot dancing to Kraftwerk’s ‘The Robots’. Daft and obvious but joyously so.

Also The Headhunters ‘If You’ve Got It, You’ll Get It’.

Need a lie down now.

@johnpower.bsky.social hey John, what was that series of vinyl comps released last year of odd psych folk krautrock euro oddness? Had odd minimalist futuristic looking covers. My brain is blank…

Working at my studio desk in school today and the Y3 students made a portrait of me out of cardboard. The likeness is uncanny.

This morning: Electric Wizard.

I passed on this when it was first released because I couldn’t bring myself to buy a stoner rock album by a band called Electric Wizard with a soft focus horned goblin smoking a bong on the cover.

Heard the sad news about Sly Dunbar on the school run of all places. I don’t even really know where to start with his immeasurable contribution to music and, well, everything, but watching him at work is best.

Here’s Sly and Robbie in action with Black Uhuru at the Rainbow in Finsbury Park in 1981
