A statement regarding Unbound/Boundless.
Last week Unbound was scheduled to refund 8k of pledge money to people that had supported my book 'Singing Up the Sun'. Last week Unbound went into administration. Today I discovered the money won't be refunded. I'm mortified about the situation. I recommend you attempt to get refunds directly through your banks, credit card providers and Paypal etc. People are having some success with this approach. In the process of administration Unbound are rebranding as Boundless and sidestepping their debts to carry on business as usual. There are hundreds of authors who haven't been paid in over a year and now thousands of backers of book projects who won't be refunded. The whole thing is grotesque. I had hoped to take the project elsewhere but I'm starting with an 8k deficit of support and feeling reasonably broken about the entire shit show. For what it's worth I'm massively grateful for all the support and kind words I've received along the way. Thank you. x

Ah yeah that’s true. I don’t tend to over clean my lino cut carves but this one definitely could’ve benefited from a bit more noise.

And the lino plate and print.

I’m hoping to finish the series in the next week or so.

Just a pencil. Blackwing pencils ideally but any one will do.

Ha, so grateful over here...!

I mean I hope, but my sense is they have something 'helpful' to add to any given situation.
matpringle.bsky.social
Exactly...!

I am reminded of the John Waters comment;

“The only insult I've ever received in my adult life was when someone asked me, "Do you have a hobby?" A HOBBY?! DO I LOOK LIKE A FUCKING DABBLER?!”

Ha good approach!

It’s not even shitty but that must makes it a little insidious somehow.

Not my first rodeo good buddy.

This kind of helpful feedback from someone that’s drifted onto my timeline from out of nowhere, dropped some wisdom and then sauntered off again tends to land somewhere between not useful at all and passive aggressive.

I do not understand the motivation to do it?

Rachel Ayers highlights six of the many fine retellings of the fairy ballad Tam Lin. I was honoured to publish @pameladean.bsky.social's extraordinary Tam Lin in the Fairy Tale Series (Tor Books), and I'm delighted to see it listed as one of the greats. It truly is. reactormag.com/a-knight-to-...

And the plate for those of you that HATE moving visuals.
Lino plate of an illustrated harpy.

‘Harpy’ linocut print.

I wanted to combine the woodcut style of Aldrovandi’s harpy with the Yubaba bird from Spirited Away. SO I DID.

Ouch…! Tbf this is an antiquated no frills cinema in a seaside town. I buy a beer to support them, not because I enjoy a bottle of San Miguel…!

Everyday is a cheap one at the Westgate cinema. Paid £5.45 for a fancy seat…!

Great film too!
