This is the stark political cost of Labour's approach. I'd argue there's another loop (among many, I'm sure) around Brexit, which skews towards a low tax, low working rights, minimal public services, high banking secrecy model. Brexit is a weight pulling to the far right.
Today's migration stats illustrate the migration doom loop in action...

What a stupid headline. Governments have a choice when building high speed rail, they can either

1) focus on the outcome of getting it built in a reasonable timeframe

2) focus on excessive process and make the project delayed and over budget.

Props to Canada for choosing option 1

The Downtown Crossing tree has just been installed.

It’s a whole tree, not the half-tree that used to be mounted over Macy*s covered walkway.

It’s a heathy, beautiful tree. The base is sturdy, modest and quite complimentary. Thanks to all who made this possible. 🌲 cc @downtownboston.bsky.social

Just your regular #bospoli reminder that we can’t afford to lose a single square inch of our better walking, biking, and transit infrastructure in this city. In fact, we need to build much more of it as fast as humanly possible.
