A reporter recalls meeting the Reiners after Rob Reiner made a movie about his son’s life. It sounds like quite a lot to relive.

I Sat Down to Dinner With Rob, Michele and Nick Reiner. It Was Heartwarming and Jarring.
With a son suspected of murder, recalling a Toronto restaurant session from 10 years ago — and the light it sheds on a dark dynamic.

This is on my Christmas list this year and can already tell it’s gonna be a poignant rewatch. Basically a perfect comedy.
watching the new criterion 4k of THIS IS SPINAL TAP. haven't seen this movie in a decade but I did watch it basically every week as a teenager and I still remember every single line

Shocked by the awful death of Rob Reiner. I spoke with him for over an hour last night. We talked about his work and his plans for the future. I always enjoyed his company. We met at his Dad's in 1975. Last thing he said to me was "See you next year.." Such a terrible end. Such a sweet man.

Wrote about how the late, great Rob Reiner had the most impossible 7-movie beginning to any director's career, and yet that's not even what he was most famous for:

Every time I get a medical bill, I know I'm getting ripped off and there's basically no recourse. Even with "good" insurance and "good" health.

FYI: Nathan Rabin needs your love and appreciation right now. He was in a very significant car crash earlier this week and is in the hospital recovering. (His family was also in the car, they’re fine, but he got the brunt of the injuries.)

Now’s a good time to support him: www.nathanrabin.com

Spotify should get sued into oblivion for shit like this
After King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard left Spotify in protest earlier this year, something strange took their place. My investigation into what happened, which resulted in Spotify taking down a bunch of slop tracks www.platformer.news/king-gizzard...

Perhaps the most dominant pitching performance over the course of a series for Yamamoto

At some point Yamamoto has to stop pitching… but how do you take him out???

There's a mural in the background of one scene that will haunt my mind probably forever
It’s essentially an emergency that you see One Battle After Another in the cinema immediately. Sean Penn will win an Oscar & it has the best car chase in many years. And those aren’t in the top 3 best things about the film. Jesus shitting Christ.

this is why baseball is the best
Not counting Wild Card games, this is the first winner-take-all postseason game to go 12 innings since Game 7 of the 1924 World Series.

Walter Johnson, after throwing four scoreless innings out of the bullpen, was the winning pitcher in that one.
