Pinned post - because I've realised I'm more likely to have somebody else's work at the top of my feed than my own.

I like creating stuff. Sometimes that's comics, sometimes it's illustration. Mostly digital, but busting out real-world tools a bit more now.

Currently writing and drawing comics.
Legion, from the X-Men. Zombie astronaut bouncing around on the Moon. 9 panel comic page - an astronaut regaining consciousness in an underground cavern and making his way to his partner's location. The other astronaut seems mesmerised by a bright light. That "six fan arts" thing that was floating around the internet a while back. I got other people to pick them for me and ended up with: The stalk (Saga), a Cadbury's Smash robot (you'll have to be an old fart to get that reference), The Spectre, Dorothy (Wizard of Oz), Zed (Zardoz) and Quint (Jaws).

I occasionally like to remind people that being wrong isn’t nearly as important as how you choose to deal with being wrong.

Equally, if you freely offer up an unconditional apology, because you know you were wrong - and that isn’t good enough - that’s on the other person, not you.

I haven’t done Halloween since the pandemic - but here’s a few of my favourites.

Maybe I’ll come out of retirement next year.
Walter White Halloween outfit. Yellow hazmat suit, glasses, goatee, respirator/air filter and shaved head. It was a big deal to shave my head at the time because I actually had hair. Terminator Halloween prosthetic that looks like a large portion of my face has been blown off, showing the metal skull underneath. Red LED where my eye should be. I was wearing the battery that powered it right on top of my eye - like an idiot. God only knows what I thinking… Chest burster from Alien Halloween outfit. Lots of parents tutted at the bloody gore - and at least one child refused the sweets. Result! The Corinthian Halloween prosthetic (mouths with teeth where my eyes should be). I could see surprisingly well out of the gaps between the upper and lower teeth.

The universe can be weird at times. I was going through a big box of paperwork last night - stuff I hadn’t touched for years - and found the original handprint I used for a cover. This morning, that exact cover turned up in my Facebook memories…🤷‍♂️
Inky handprint from 2015/16. I made it to use in a cover for Self Storage issue 1. Found in a box of old papers I was sorting out last night. The finished image for the cover of Self Storage issue 1. It’s a blue roller door with the number 83 sprayed on it, with a bloody handprint over the top. This image showed up in my Facebook memories this morning.

I often hear (from massive bores, obviously) that suicide is the easy, or coward’s way out.

Shockingly, suicide probably isn’t anyone’s first option. It’s where people turn when they think they’ve exhausted every option.
