What annoys me is the fallacious argument in favour of the monarchy that they attract tourist money into the country. Take a look at France, wonderful historic buildings and palaces: Versailles, the Louvre,... etc. raking in tourist Euros yet no monarchy.

What happens in public and what happens in private is the question. Starmer would only have had to make it clear that any cabinet minister going against him would be purged to the back benches or lose the whip beforehand. They’re a sleekit lot.
