I would sincerely prefer every other option that does not need to start killing people in the streets.

That is why I like the measured, controlled but constant and attent remarks of Newsom.
He is doing the possible but paying attention not to trigger a civil war. It looks very responsible to me.

Probably Trump would be very glad to have an excuse to send FBI or CIA to arrest Newsom, any day of the week.

While Trump has gotten a free card to stay out of jail from the Supreme Court, Newsom is walking on thin ice and must avoid to do anything that would need "forgiveness".

At the moment the options, even for a Governor, are very limited.

It might be easier only if very strong movement of common people gives long lasting support to the Dem governors. Like a march everyday and possibly a general strike every week.

I imagine because there are so many major cities that can be targeted.

By the way, tightly controlling all levels of the legislature, while the Supreme Court is mostly made up of puppets, makes it impossible to maintain the normal system of checks and balances.

It may seem that he's currently reducing spending through DOGE operations, but that's far less than necessary to offset the massive tax breaks he's imposing. It's just an optical illusion.

His administration's spending continues to rise, while he is forcing more liquidity from the Fed Reserve.

How to bankrupt a large and well-known company.

1. Ignore reports, falsify them if possible
2. Get liquidity to maintain apparent success
3. Increase your spending

If everything goes as usual, soon the company is bankrupt with no way out.
