This didn’t start as some big corporate policy. It started with individual Hilton franchisees making a choice. A Hampton Inn in Lakeville, Minnesota refused to host ICE agents. That decision came from the people running the hotel, not from protests or outside pressure.

Trump has not ruled out using force to take Greenland, though he says he plans to pursue an offer to buy it instead. In response, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the Kingdom of Denmark issued a joint statement reaffirming Greenland’s status and sovereignty.
