Bro the Ottonians of Germany man…failing upwards is an understatement…
Anyway, strongly recommending “The History of the Germans” Podcast. The guy that makes it is absolutely hilarious and so entertaining but it’s SO dense. Have had to rewind at points to keep up with it.

Fundamentally what the churches try to sell is the ideal of a Christian faith that primarily requires faith as a form of consumption, which is why you have them basically have CCM + kitsch + anti-egalitarian + socially conservative ideal as the ideal form of Christian religious practice
