Apparently the “DIZ” in ”FILE_ID.DIZ” stands for “Description In Zipfile”. I always thought it just stood for diz-cription.

Going to a vintage computer festival is great because you’ll be like, excited to find somebody who’s dedicated themselves to recreating the real-time display of ANSI graphics at 2400 baud modem speeds, then immediately lose all interest when you discover them outputting to a cheap LCD monitor

Oof. Unfollowing now. I only followed because he saved Sega's headquarters from a missile and outran a speed skater. I had no idea he beat up kids and young adults for being outside and threw a sumo wrestler off a cliff so hard the sumo wrestler exploded.

the most cursed thing I saw was definitely the broken Macbook that had been repurposed into a detached vertical monitor INSIDE of a glass fishbowl tower case and was now dedicated to exclusively playing Psikyo shooters

makes sense, from start to end of my teenage years I played Final Fantasies 7, 8, 9 and 10 as they came out. that kind of thing is gonna warp you into being dependably nostalgic if nothing else. if the only contemporary FF I got to play was 15? that couldn't warp me, I'd be normal and well adjusted.
