If you haven't watched Ashley Norton's stuff - it's like having a good friend yap at you about their special interest (which is mainly trashy reality TV ha) and I recommend it! (even if you do not know or care for reality TV)

My friend from college was their #1 fan back in like 2011 and would go to every show in the greater NJ area and play his music at pretty much every opportunity.

Yeah it seems like a soft launch that they just did not have the foresight to understand why people, in an industry that has been pretty consistently kneecapped, would see this as false promises

There are just too many concerns (obviously including cost) that most of these noted changes, including the name and the pass denigrations seem to just be tone deaf.

People have felt unsafe at this convention for YEARS and the dangers have grown innumerably with all that's going on stateside.

My issue with the doc and its claims (beyond its absurd amount of meaningless buzzwords) is that it is noting that pricing will be "dramatically" lowered, but gives no indication as to what that number would be. And by eliminating the Expo/et. al "lower" passes means it's all or nothing even more so

The vision deck for the new GDC is confounding. I don't know who any of this is for, but it's certainly not game developers eager to learn.

Yeah, no. I'm a contractor, I write for games, and sometimes that means writing 100% of a game's text. I'm a valuable part of the team! Contractors aren't just "support", they deserve to be credited (and treated) better than this
