This is not to say the 8 books are not influential (although I’d debate you on a couple). And I’m not gonna list the dozens of alternative options that could have been selected. But there ARE dozens. I’m sure the folks who put this list together put a lot of thought into it. Just not enough.

There are 8 picture books on this list. None were created by women. After everything we’ve been through the last decade, this is an enormous oversight. What @slj.com has just said is that only men are influential in the world picture books. And I’m not okay with this.
