You are legally required to buy insurance. You can only buy insurance at certain times and for certain reasons. It will cost almost as much as your housing. Your teeth and eyes are not part of your health coverage. Healthcare is privatized but a well visit books a year out.

Trying to decide if I should squeeze in a three day work trip. It’s a fun event in a fun town. Worried I’m over committing and will burn through my cognitive reserve because I have three other events in the same small window. Go for it or slow down and pace myself? #NeurodivergentBS

I’m angry because my husband’s employer decided that the medical treatment chosen by my medical team of Drs, who actually treat me, isn’t in their economic interest. Even though it’s been going well for 9 months, it will not continue. Bonus- meds ended now instead of easing off and it’s miserable

Serious question- is there a way to just block words and phrases from your social feeds? I don’t want to try to block 100s of people, I just want to keep my sanity by filtering out certain topics or bullshit.

Remember: The recipe for economic growth isn’t tax cuts for the rich. It’s investment in our people — in health care, infrastructure and education — to build a strong middle class.

You don't grow the economy through trickle-down nonsense.

For the people in the back- this has way more impact on getting your call answered, your return processed, and access to help, than your likelihood to be audited. #blueSkyTax
This is good news! BUT...

The dumbasses in the Treasury are also closing offices.

While excellent news, we are so badly understaffed. Where will they put folks with less office space? AND, why would they want to come back?

Trump doesn't care about crime in D.C. — which is at a 30-year low. He's creating another fake "emergency" in an attempt to show force. If he actually cared about keeping the city safe, he wouldn't have stoked insurrectionists to attack the Capitol on Jan 6. Hello?

Trump’s mobilization of the National Guard, ICE, and FBI in D.C. has nothing to do with safety.

In fact, violent crime has hit a 30-year low in D.C.

It’s plain and simple—this is what authoritarians do.

The Trump regime is attempting to instill fear, create propaganda, and consolidate control.
Violent Crime in D.C. Hits 30 Year Low
Total violent crime for 2024 in the District of Columbia is down 35% from 2023 and is the lowest it has been in over 30 years, according to data collected by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) a...

Many of your reps hold office hours. This was part of my job when I interned for a state rep. These are great opportunities to sit face to face with legislators and get help, ask questions, engage in the system.
My office’s weekly office hours are available so you can meet my staff and ask questions about federal resources and programs, from Social Security to VA benefits.

For times and locations, see below.

The IRS's free Direct File tool is now "gone," according to Trump's IRS chief.

This comes after tax prep companies like Intuit, the maker of TurboTax, lobbied the for years to block it.

Intuit donated $1M to Trump’s inauguration.

See how this works?

Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Bill Long said the agency will end its Direct File program.

Today I knocked several things off the long term to-do list, sent some hard emails, and maybe saved my gardens from the drought we are having. I will pay for this productivity with a less productive day tomorrow. Such is ADHD life. #sprints #spoons

It appears that a great number of people who voted for this didn’t understand their state health benefits were, in fact, Medicaid. Phase two of this will be increases in private ins premiums as hospitals must bill more to cover the free care they must now deliver. 🚫 insurance doesn’t = 🚫🤧😷.

When you adopt a tech tool because it’s simple and right sized for your needs then they decide they need to be like everyone else in the market and add all kinds of features you don’t need and it ruins the tool and now it’s fancy but doesn’t do the core thing it was built to do 😑 #taxBS

I’ve always respect art as a form of protest. But I underestimated how critical it is to protest. Without artistic expression, protest is just a dry lecture. Thank you to all those sign makers, folks who dress on theme, signers and song writers, poets and limerick writers, chanters, & button makers.

What might have been different if enough people had taken a stand earlier in Germany? The Congo? Rwanda?

I’d rather be wrong than look back and think- I should have done more.
