ピンチョン「Shadow Ticket」を読み進めていて、1930年代のはずなのに BCNU というインターネット略語（「じゃ、また」くらいの意味）が飛たのに吹き出していたのですが、

10章でもわからない短縮形がでてくるので検索したところ、すごい猥雑な単語なので大将は変わらないなあと苦笑いしてる

ピンチョンの Shadow Ticket と並行して、ミルチャ・カルタレスク「ソレノイド」。１ページずつじりじりと読んでいるのですが、じわじわと面白くなってきた

日本の私小説のような自己への耽溺にルーマニア的な寒々しさが重なって孤独の描写が胸に迫る。まだ一つ目のソレノイドが出てこない

His appeal is denied. He will remain permanently banned on BlueSky’s side.

ブラム・ストーカーを題材にした第一回、とても楽しかった。「ドラキュラ」を作者のルーツであるアイルランドと覇権国家イギリスの非均衡の構図の中で見るという視点はなかったので新鮮

「修道院覚書バルタザールとブリムンダ」読了。傑作としか言いようがない

著者のユーモアや皮肉とともに展開される濃密な歴史描写が大伽藍のような世界観を構成していて、それだけで圧巻なのですが、

主人公二人の愛の物語がそこに神秘と救いを与えてくれる。これはもう一度読まないと

ワークライフバランス。理念を骨抜きにして「極限までワークを入れてからバランスを標榜する」みたいな欺瞞か、そうでなければ「バランスしてるんだから、こちらの言う通りの成果分のワークをしろ」みたいなのが昔から多かったので、用語としてブログでは使ってない

「MAGAは基盤を拡大できない — クリスチャン音楽がその理由を物語る」

チャーリー・カーク殺害からの聖人化は、MAGAを拡大させるための端緒となってしまうのか…と著者を心配させたが、大仰なカーク追悼式で演奏された「音楽」を聞いて「こりゃダメだ」と安心した、という興味深い視点の記事。
その音楽が現代キリスト教音楽（CCM）と賛美歌で、有り体に言えばダサい。音楽によく象徴されるMAGA/極右の文化的な側面からのダサさ・ニッチさ・奇妙さ（wiredness）は、実はMAGAの政治運動としての限界をかなり本質的に示しているのではないかと。
