There’s actually quite a complicated issue here about who does and should have access to information at the point where it is investigatory and nothing has been firmly evidenced/decided either way, and it’s not at all clear how this legislative proposal would actually work in practice.
Investigation: Dozens of councils do not hold data on how many home-educated children are subject to child protection enquiries – suggesting many are underprepared for new duties to protect vulnerable children

Interesting exploration of 'I do/we do/you do' and 'guided - independent practice' from Tom Sherrington. If things feel too linear and straight-forward, they probably need more thinking! All the details matter.

Exploring confusion around modelling: “I do, we do, you do” vs “Guided and Independent Practice”

At St James’ Church at Cooling in Kent are still to be seen the 13 children’s graves surrounding that of their parents that inspired Dickens to write the opening chapter of Great Expectations.

I guess even the folk memory of the huge mortality of childbirth and early life is now disappearing.

Definitely going to give this a listen!
My conversation with Keziah Featherstone hit me right in my rebel heart. I cannot cope with the flat packed Ikea version of leadership. Real leadership takes courage, clarity, messiness, and a bit of rebellion.

If you feel the same, listen in.

I'm not sure what the difference between some of the terms used in this article is.
Isolation and seclusion just sound the same. And there is not clarity as to what 'removal' is.
Most schools i have worked in would 'remove' a pupil to another classroom for the remainder of a lesson for behaviour?
Exclusive: Schools will face a legal duty to record their use of non-disciplinary isolation and report it to parents under plans being developed by the government

A request for help:

I recently moved up north (near Bolton) and I’ve been on supply ever since.

I need a permanent job. Science teacher. 20yrs exp.

Schools don’t always advertise on the TES so if anyone knows anyone, please pass this on?

I’d really appreciate it!
