Tory policy is to revoke permanent residence (ILR) for everybody who does not earn £38k - deporting most nurses who have ILR

This is put in the video as "who is unlikely to contribute more than they cost"

NB: video does not say EU settled status is exempt

No govt since Idi Amin has done this

Last day to get both my novels in The Future King series free off Amazon!

King Arthur meets teen drama. Britain, 2052. Realising that behind the UK's prosperity lies unspeakable cruelty, 15 y/o Gwen sets off to dismantle everything the government stands for.

Near to an hour's research for the sentence:

"As Arthur took in the red-brick facade, the mullioned windows and the sandstone quoining, he felt the reality of his current situation hit him."

In the end Rice's Language of Buildings saved me 😆 #writingcommunity #author #wip

I have this in my near-future dystopian novel [The Future King]. They call them B.I.D.s (Biometric Identity Cards)
Digital ID cards will make it tougher to work in UK illegally, says Keir Starmer
The prime minister says Labour has shied away from illegal immigration concerns, but says the new ID will make

Freelance illustration gigs drying up. Ad agencies using Midjourney instead of hiring human artists. Costume design turned over to AI wholesale. Good work vanishing.

These are the stories of working visual artists, who describe losing jobs, wages, and hope as their clients and bosses embrace AI.
Artists are losing work, wages, and hope as bosses and clients embrace AI
Visual artists, illustrators and graphic designers share their stories about how AI is being used to lower wages, degrade work and even replace it altogether, in this installment of AI Killed My Job.

Don’t recall BBC News leading with any of the myriad marches for Palestine, #PeoplesVote or #Rejoin. How very odd. How very strange. How very expected.

Why do people do this? You're telling me you were with your grandbaby yesterday who now has salmonella and then you go and rub your hands over the face of my child while you're talking at me and they're in the pram? Why would you?

I feel this ARC read I'm on at the moment should really be an Alpha or a Beta... do I just review or do I let the author know about the inconsistencies I've found? #writingcommunity #authorsky 💙📚

Now ARC reading an Arthurian retelling where the author didn't use Google to check their heraldic colours; 'white' is in fact 'silver' (argent), and 'yellow' would be 'gold' (or) - red and white (Lancelot) and red and silver (some other knight) would be the same colour arms 🫠 #writingcommunity
Not historical as such but recently read a book where the protagonist stitched up a wound and then cauterised it I guess melting flesh into stitches
And don't tell yourself: "It's a story. The small details don't really matter." They do. I once read a historical novel set in Victorian London (written, I think, by an American author), in which the detective protagonist presses a 50-pence piece into a grimy urchin's hand. I think about this a lot.
