Gags in hand is melodramatic. People here exercising their free speech in comments do not have nearly your reach, influence or power. They're comments, not works in a national publication, not the force of government coming down on your head. They may not be fun or pleasant, but you're not silenced.

I think about every time I learn some cool new trick in Ableton Live, too, or I finish a Max for Live tutorial & make some cool little device or effect. I once turned the ringing sound of some tweezers I have into a playable pitched instrument, I turned a sample of my cat (RIP) into an instrument

I'm also working in new tunings, & it's liberating to have no idea what I'm doing & to just discover things, to compose as I learn. Beginner's mind is enjoyable--like revisiting childhood play! Creative expression & experimentation makes life worthwhile!

Like, I'm working on Travis picking & counterpoint on guitar, which twists my brain in knots in new ways--there's this joy in starting something challenging & struggling, then experiencing it coming together as you work through it!

Right? These people must not be familiar with the endorphin rush from hitting that creative peak flow state or the satisfaction of finally pulling off a technique you've worked hard to learn. These are people who loathe process, & artists, writers, musicians live for process. It's the fun bit!

Just want to remind everyone that little moments of joy are so important right now.

For instance, my cat does not understand the human concept of kisses beyond Incoming Nose = Love. So every time she’s happy, she’ll smush her face or shove her nose into ours.

Tonight Stella leaped & didn't quite make it onto the tall bookcase, which destroyed a lampshade & made a racket. Luckily, she, the lamp, & the decorative glass plate she knocked to the floor are all unharmed. She is completely unrepentant, but has curled up on my foot, so maybe it's safe to sleep?

They whine about how they deserve special treatment that no other business or normal person would get, when they themselveswould sue anyone stealing their IP into oblivion. They could've done something helpful & legal, but instead wanna steal from artists & flood the world w/vapid, disposable slop.

They should've thought of that before abusing other people's copyrights. They had the option to use public domain works, works for hire, or to go through the licensing system. They knowingly, willfully chose not to & did so in service of a for profit business, to enrich themselves. Zero sympathy.

A beautiful to tribute to a beautiful cat, who will be sadly missed. I'll never forget the time I was catsitting & DiNozzo kept jumping up on the foot of the bed, looking at me with wide eyes, then dashing away, as if he wanted me to chase him. I was too tired to do so, but it was absurdly cute!

Yesterday, shortly after 2:30 PM, my little shadow guardian and editing sidekick, DiNozzo, died in my arms here at home. The change in his health was sudden and drastic. With the help of Compassion 4 Paws, we helped him head out on his final adventure. (1)

That horror story is my life--our elder statescalico was like that her entire almost 20 years & her older buddy was a plastic crinkler (via paws). 1 of the young torties we adopted to keep the elder statescalico company turned out to be a devout plastic licker *&* crinkler, so the cycle continues...
