Liam himself is five goddamned years old and should be at home with an adult he trusts right now no matter who his parents are. It would not matter if they were literal criminal masterminds, Liam Ramos is a baby and babies do not belong in prison.
Reminder that, as of the latest reports, Liam Ramos is still in prison in Texas - now for 5 days.

His parents are legal asylum seekers with no criminal record.

smash that bookmark
democrats will now sieze this moment to run surreptitious damage control on behalf of the regime, plead for bipartisanship and moving forward as americans together, unified, and triangulate us into a position that's just to the right of where we were the day before Renee Good was executed

The biggest risk in this moment is something sociologists call “symbolic compliance.”

That’s when an institution that is violating civil rights gives the public just enough symbolic victories that accountability efforts lose steam before there has been any meaningful change.

I host a mental health podcast called Depresh Mode. And I live in Minnesota. Here's what I said at the end of this week's show about mental health, life in Minnesota, and their overlap.

Four months of shootings and deaths. This doesn't even count the neglect and death in their concentration camps. Fuck. This. Shit.

Dere er liksom proffene her. Act like it.
A reminder to the news media: “conflicting accounts” is what you say BEFORE the incontrovertible video evidence appears. After that, your job is to ask why one side is lying, not to repeat the lie and pretend no one knows the truth.

another entry for the ‘not an exaggeration in any way’ column
At about 1m20 the most non-elite US mall ninja shows up with a bafflingly seemingly self inflicted bleeding nose, tucks a shotgun under his taint before tossing a munition canister god knows where, then starts shooting at journalists. If you saw this in a war videogame you’d think it was broken.
Federal officers just came in and cleared the protest with tear gas. One officer asked press why we didn’t call 911 when the protesters were destroying the hotel and told us that we are bad Americans. Full video to come on @statuscoupnews.bsky.social

It’s pretty basic, capitalism depends on individualism & we interrupt it by practicing simple human collectivism. You can theorize it but theory’s not the point because it’s actually organic. The capitalist is astounded that people are willing to share & give. It must be bankrolled by a billionaire.

sure but i'm old enough to remember when we all clowned elon for dumping $37b into twitter. revenue and profitability are simply not as important as media consolidation, and it'll happen here too. for all its flaws, bluesky is an impressive tool; rapid response is priceless
It is important to know that despite its prominence TikTok loses billions of dollars and tweaking algorithms lays havoc to your ad sales. Oracle is gonna destroy this thing and it’s going to combine with the data center debt and consume it whole
