PSA to those who live in the US, no matter how disillusioned you may be, vote in local elections and encourage your friends and family to do so. One of the big problems for liberals is low turnout for lower level elections, which puts in people who approve of gerrymandering tactics for the big ones.

The official database of works eligible for the Anthropic AI settlement has been released and, as I suspected, many authors are screwed. Basically, if your books weren't officially registered with the US Copyright Office you're out of luck. 1/ secure.anthropiccopyrightsettlement.com/lookup/results
Welcome to the Anthropic Copyright Settlement Website
Are you the legal or beneficial copyright owner of a book included in the Anthropic Copyright Settlement?
You could get a payment from the $1.5 billion Settlement.

Submissions are now closed for TRUNK.
For the curious:
- Average # of rejections was 27.
- Average story length was 4,500.
- No real difference between held and declined.

HELD for consideration: 14%
That will be trimmed down quite a bit over the next week or so, and more slowly thereafter.

I've said many times that if I only read books by people whose politics I agreed with, I'd read very few books. There just aren't that many vegan, animal rights-supporting leftists writing SFF.
I do try to avoid work by writers I think are just bad people personally, regardless of their politics.

Just about one week left to submit to TRUNK.

PS It's not a big deal, but to those of you who provide the info we ask for and format your titles the way we like, I see you and thank you for saving me time and trouble.

I am reading through this book of short stories right now, revisiting old favorites and encountering new ones. Thomas is one of the brightest lights of short fiction today. What he does with weird horror—mixing and blending in sci-fi, fantasy, the literary—is a marvel

Hey! It's midnight on the east coast, so it's release day. Thanks to @undertow.bsky.social for being such a fantastic publisher. Thanks to family, friends, and fellow writers for their support. The short fic grind has ups and downs, but it's a blast. Fricken love what we do. Thanks for reading.
