James Gunn crying when he describes scenes he wrote and directed is the best. I sometimes cry when I talk about my own work. I don't care if that sounds pretentious. If you can make yourself cry, you're tapping into something that matters to you.

Tron: Ares is, to me, the third best Tron movie, but I enjoyed it plenty. On that topic, I'm torn about Tron: Legacy. I don't dig retroactively fixing effects... films are a record of what was possible when they were made. But fix Tron: Legacy's de-aging? It would be a considerably better movie.

Is it true (maybe apocryphal but it mattered to me as a kid) that the reason Luke double-checks with Yoda that Vader is, in fact, his father in Return of the Jedi is that many kids thought Darth Vader was lying about the big reveal? Obviously, if you're six years old, you suspect villains lie.

Speaking as a survivor of conversion "therapy" practice and one of the architects of the Canadian ban:

Bans on "therapy" for minors dont go far enough. Conversion "therapy" is actual torture and you cant consent to torture. They must also include bans for adults

Smashing Machine is just kind of odd. It's lionizing a forefather of MMA for people who watch Criterion, which doesn't land. It also relies on a real fighter, Ryan Bader, to carry a lot of scenes. If don't know who that is, the whole Mark Coleman character will feel under-served.

This argument at SCOTUS is just the saddest bullshit. 'Conversion Therapy' is absolutely horrific, and demonstrably so, and listening to these imbeciles talk about it like that case isn't closed is revolting. How much hard do they really want to do? As much as possible.
