I assume the source here is a Regent or someone tied to Moore, as otherwise I'm not sure who'd be privy to who was or was not in the room. I don't really worry about the lack of security but the lack of an HR rep, if true, isn't a good sign even if youWarde felt empowered to act without one here.
Michigan had been alerted prior to Wednesday that Sherrone Moore was dealing with mental health issues yet Warde Manuel fired him alone with no HR rep and no security present, source told NBC Sports.

I'm listening to the Michigan Insider and ho boy are people hot. I don't blame anyone but definitely a lot of anger out there. Also, apparently Sherrone Moore only followed OF models on his public Instagram, which is crazy to just drop out there.

One final post about the Moore situation for now; the rush to find some grand conspiracy in "how did nobody know/stop this earlier" greatly exaggerates how large organizations handle employees, even high-profile ones, in their day to day matters. Unless someone credibly complains you don't look.

I will put this out there that while all of *gestures wildly at Michigan football and Moore* this makes for a lot of fun discourse, his wife and kids are going through hell and my heart goes out to them.
December 11, 2025 at 12:47 AM
So yeah, this has absolutely raced past whatever level of regular "powerful men doing stupid things" framing we usually ascribe to these idiots into something way worse.
December 11, 2025 at 12:28 AM
I will say, I checked out the MGoBlog front page post on the firing and...yeah, I get a sense I root for the same team but I don't think I share the same worldview as a healthy piece of the fanbase.
December 10, 2025 at 11:45 PM
I would simply not watch Michigan football anymore. To paraphrase a statement made about Richard Dreyfuss, life is too short to root for a team run by Brian Kelly.
What if Brian Kelly coached at Michigan
December 10, 2025 at 11:21 PM
"Jesse Minter show-cause how long?" has got to be one of the most searched topics right now.
December 10, 2025 at 10:53 PM
In terms of guys to replace Moore, in no particular order I'd call up:
- Jason Eck
- Kalen DeBoer
- Jesse Minter
- Kenny Dillingham
- Any Harbaugh who's available

Indiana feverishly signed Cignetti to an extension that makes him governor of Indiana for half the year.
December 10, 2025 at 10:01 PM
I want to make it clear that Moore having an inappropriate relationship with someone who works for him justifies a firing and furthermore I feel awful for his family. I know we'll get to the carousel discussions and on-field machinations but this is a story about a guy who seemingly abused power
December 10, 2025 at 9:55 PM
So yeah, apparently those rumors had some truth to them. Maybe it didn't get as far as some claimed but clearly well beyond what was acceptable.
So yeah, going to be an absolutely insane coaching cycle especially given the fact UM is the type of program that can poach a sitting coach from anywhere.
Statement from Michigan:
December 10, 2025 at 9:48 PM
I was out for the first half against Nova but checking the box score it's sort of crazy that Michigan is absolutely demolishing an honestly not-bad team yet again and doing it without, like, amazing shooting.
December 10, 2025 at 12:21 AM
I get that a throw like that is effectively a punt but woof was that a ball to nowhere.
December 8, 2025 at 3:49 AM
I get them being disappointed but a good way to get a head start on your 2026 title hopes would be to give the guys who are coming back another game to prepare for against a high level opponent. If the players didn't want to play then so be it but still seems like a bad precedent.
10-2 Notre Dame announces it will not accept a bowl bid after missing the playoff.
December 7, 2025 at 9:26 PM
I called it, apparently, in complete jest.
The funniest outcome that'll never happen is if they swap Miami and ND because of the H2H and then let Alabama at 10-3 in over 10-2 ND.
December 7, 2025 at 5:40 PM
It's funny: Alabama didn't have a particularly strong argument last year to make the playoffs and were left out, so this year much was made of new standards and now Bama is possibly going to be left out for two teams with not particularly strong arguments.
December 7, 2025 at 5:28 AM
What an insane end to this game.
December 7, 2025 at 4:58 AM
That's a huge penalty against UVa there. It's the right one but going to make OT even harder.
December 7, 2025 at 4:57 AM
Yeah, Duke isn't stopping UVa so you gotta score a TD here.
December 7, 2025 at 4:55 AM
Duke completely mishandling the last two minutes of this game is sort of appropos for the ACC this year.
December 7, 2025 at 4:46 AM
Wait, you mean to tell me a Manny Diaz coached group of players make some dumb decisions?
December 7, 2025 at 4:37 AM
Duke's defense has one job here; please don't blow it.
December 7, 2025 at 4:35 AM
Huge congrats to IU on this year. I'm honestly not sure if they'll be able to sustain quite *gestures wildly* this every year but they've got a real chance to win a national title this year and I'm all for it.
December 7, 2025 at 4:31 AM
Pettiness of watching your rival and rooting for them to lose the game is always a bit weird when you wind up rooting for another team you don't like (see ND last year in the title game) but this IU team is legitimately fun to watch and so I don't find it particularly hard to hope they pull this off
