To be honest, we barely overheard the chorus repeating stuff like that, so there's a chance that was the case. Considering the tone of the song I don't think it was but I might totally be (and would love to be proved) wrong!

...tied to the decay of critical thinking in favour of convenience, comfort and heedless obedience (from either tiredness, or ignorance), messages like that sound pretty toxic, unless of course there was some satire intended which could be the case. It's hard not to be over vigilant these days 😩

We didn't really, properly listen to it, though, and we were probably discussing something along those lines at the moment so that might have something to do with it. Considering the rise of fascism or fascist-adjacent ideologies among the younger generations, plus the worship of youth+beauty (...)

The other day my partner and I overheard this song saying something like "beautiful people don't stress, beautiful people say yes", and our immediate reaction was thinking how low-key fascist, capitalist and/or dystopian it sounded. Kind of what you'd hear in the streets of 'A Brave New World'.

Hi Aimee, congrats on all those followers! I love my fantasy with a dark aura, so that's what I try to do in my spare time (or if I land a project in that vein, I wouldn't complain). Here are a few samples of my work!

The focus of the illustration is massive cocoon-like formation made of gnarled branching shapes with a warm, eye-shaped light in the centre. In the foreground, a thick “branch” where a character is standing goes towards the background. The atmosphere is mostly blue and hazy, with some warm light particles floating around.
