I haven’t noticed backpacks specifically, but are your kids carrying their shoes in there? Apparently kids shoes are not breathable at all because they have always gotten extremely stinky feet.

We started making them wash their feet and change their socks when they get home

This is super interesting. I went to university for math, and didn’t do anything art related for almost 20 years until I started painting miniatures a few years ago. Hearing stuff like this feels like sorcery because I’ve never thought about it before but it makes a lot of sense when you lay it out
